Weekly Update 1/26

Whats Happening in Student Government this Week 1/26-2/2

1.     Town Hall

On February 16th, there will be a Town Hall Meeting in Debartolo 101 at 8:00 PM. Students can openly ask Father Jenkins, Vice President Dr. Affleck-Graves and Provost Tom Burish questions. There will be a reception afterwards. We encourage everyone to come. They are planning on discussing diversity on campus and the Crossroads Project. Please come with questions, this is an excellent opportunity to speak with the leaders of our school.

2.     Safety Video

Keep an eye out for the safety video, it should be finished this week and will be coming out soon.

3.     29 for 29

The 29 for 29 campaign is in full swing, many dorms have already met and spent time with their family. Even more dorms have planned upcoming events. The 29 for 29 campaign is a campus-wide service initiative that pairs each dorm with a family from the South Bend Center for the Homeless. You can find more information about the campaign and see what different dorms are doing on the 29 for 29 blog.

4.     This week Senate will be discussing the First Year Experience course, which is the new First year mandatory course that will be replacing the PE requirement; they will also hear, discuss and vote on a resolution to change the transition period for class council.

We have lots of exciting events and initiatives coming up so keep an eye out for those.
