On Wednesday evening, members of Student Government Senate - comprised of dorm representatives and students from other governing bodies - met with Dean Hugh Page, Dean of First Year Studies. This meeting was to discuss the changes to the Physical Education program that will be implemented in 2015. The new plan eliminates the current P.E. courses, as well as the swimming and fitness test requirements, and instead will consist of a required and graded 1 credit course in a classroom-type setting. The Senate asked questions about the policy and raised some concerns on the way in which these changes were approved, especially concerning whether there was sufficient student involvement in the decision-making process.
