Riya Shah is a sophomore management consulting and political science major, minoring in constitutional studies. She was born and raised in Louisville, KY (home of the Kentucky Derby!) and currently resides in Walsh Hall. She loves watching basketball, betting on horse races, playing golf, and travel photography. Back home, Riya was involved with research on the opioid crisis, which led her to become passionate about non-profits and eventually drove her to pursue corporate law specializing in non-profit work. She also worked on the current Kentucky governor's campaign due to her passion for public education and belief that his administration would be able to revive the underfunded education system in Kentucky. On campus, she is involved in ND Votes, BridgeND, and College Democrats. As Director of National Engagement, she looks forward to continuing to encourage civil discourse and voter mobilization across Notre Dame!
