TEDxUND Call for Speakers

Dear Notre Dame Community Members,

Have you accomplished something great or developed an impressive talent?

Do you have a bold idea or big plans to change the world?

Whether you’ve been working on something that would eventually make the world a little better or simply want to raise awareness of an issue that matters to you, you may have what it takes to join us as a speaker at TEDxUND 2014

To find more ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx, which allows for the organization of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience.  This January, with support from University Communications and the Office of the Provost, a partnership of Student Government, the Hesburgh Libraries, and DPAC will present TEDxUND 2014.

TEDxUND will feature dynamic live presentations – talks, demonstrations, and artistic performances – by Notre Dame students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members along with a relevant selection of recorded TED Talks to spark deep discussion and connection among a small live audience and those joining in by live stream.  TEDxUND strives to re-create the unique experience found at TED, where the world’s leaders, thinkers and doers congregate to share what they are most passionate about, while also presenting the best of what the University of Notre Dame has to offer.

By bringing TEDx to Notre Dame, we hope to spread the spirit of the University and the original ideas of our community.  We believe you have something to say and we aim to provide a platform where you will have the opportunity to inspire others.

The event will take place on January 21, 2014, but there is still much work to be done: now is your chance to apply to present.  We welcome all submissions from anyone associated with the University.

The application form should take no more than a few minutes to complete; it is now available on the official website of TEDxUND at http://tedx2014.nd.edu/.  Applications close October 31st, so be sure to apply as soon as possible.  We look forward to hearing from you and will be in touch shortly after your application is submitted to discuss the possibilities around your presentation.

We will continue to update the website and provide additional information on the event. If you want to learn more about TED and TEDx, proceed to http://www.ted.com/.

Sincerely yours,

TEDxUND 2014 Organizing Committee
