Chair of DVD Program
The Chair of the DVD Program will work towards increasing the efficiency of the current program. The Chair will be in charge of setting up allotted times for students to come into the Student Government office in order to rent their DVDs. The Chair will continue to modify the current refundable $5 policy, will make sure that the DVD collection is continuously updated, and will monitor the returns of all DVDs. The Chair will be responsible for all transactions within the program.
College Readership Program Director
The Director of the College Readership Program will follow closely all records of the usage of each newspaper (New York Times, Chicago Tribune, and USA Today). The Director will work to promote this program across campus by working closely with representatives from each newspaper company. The director will also observe the usage at specific locations (JACC, Mendoza, LaFortune, North Dining Hall, South Dining Hall) and will adjust for specific modifications if newspapers are demanded more than others or if a location is not used as effectively as others. The director will budget accordingly for the specific supply and demand scenarios that are present for individual newspaper preferences.
Director of Communications / Department of Communications
The Director of Communications will aim to efficiently inform the student body of the current initiatives that have been taken on by Student Government. The Department will also search for ideas and concerns from the student body. This department’s responsibilities include marketing student government sponsored events, issuing press releases, publishing weekly, campus-wide stall notes, and gathering student feedback and suggestions through management of focus groups and the Student Survey each semester. The members of the department will work towards recruiting freshmen, transfer students, and students of all classes to become more involved within Student Government.
Director of External Affairs / Department of External Affairs
The Director of External Affairs will take initiatives and concepts mentioned through Notre Dame’s student government and will research these ideas at parallel universities. The director would attend all Council of Representatives, Senate, and Campus Life Council meetings. The director would act upon an idea proposed in oversight/general meetings and report back to the respectful committee with the appropriate information. The director would use previous student government knowledge in order to evaluate the feasibility of the implementation of other university policies and programming concepts. This department would ensure constant communication with other universities across the nation in order to maintain a venue for comparison and idea sharing.
Executive Controller
The Controller is charged with maintaining an accurate record of all cash flows of the Student Union Senate, approving all transactions of the Senate, and assisting the Student Body President in developing and presenting the annual budget proposal to the Financial Management Board.
FLEX Program Director
The FLEX (Freshman Leadership Experience) Program Director co-chairs the FLEX program with the Student Body President. FLEX's goal is to integrate freshmen into leadership organizations around campus. The FLEX Program director is responsible for running weekly meetings and continuing the effort to help offer incoming freshmen positions and experiences dealing with technology, legislation, fundraising and community service. The program presents its members with a chance to get involved in the many programs Notre Dame provides, especially those programs Student Government sponsors. Ultimately, the freshmen that are a part of the FLEX program will become better acquainted with the inner-workings of Student Government and will also be able to provide their input on several initiatives from their perspective as a first year student.
Graphic Designer
The Graphic Designer will be the creator of all student government advertising. The designer will create all logos, posters, table tents, and advertisements used in local publications. The designer will work directly with the Department of Communications in order to ensure the maximum impact for specific marketing strategies.
Parliamentarian
The Parliamentarian advises the Chairperson of Student Senate, Council of Representatives, and Campus Life Council regarding parliamentary procedure and Robert’s Rules of Order. By gaining a familiarity with the Student Union Constitution, this is a great position to become more involved and informed with Notre Dame's Student Government.
Student Body Representative to the Athletic Department
The Student Body Representative to the Athletic Department will serve as the liaison between Student Government and the Athletic Department. The representative will handle all promotion of specific sporting events and will develop marketing strategies in order to encourage attendance at all sporting events. The representative will work directly with the Hall President’s Council Athletic Chairs. Additionally, the representative will work with specific Senate Committees in addressing athletic issues such as basketball campouts, as well as ticket distribution/policies for students, parents, visitors, and alumni.
Student Body Secretary
The Student Union Secretary facilitates the distribution of information among all branches of the Student Union. This includes the distribution of information among the Council of Representatives, Student Senate, Executive Policy Board, Executive Programming Board, and Campus Life Council. The Student Body Secretary is responsible for the maintenance of the Student Union’s public records, including the minutes and agendas of the above mentioned student groups. The Secretary also helps make all public records of the Student Union easily accessible to all students, faculty, and staff of the University. The Secretary of the Student Body will work with the President and Vice President to coordinate the timing of events throughout the week/month/semester. The Secretary is the single most important factor to the organization of Student Government as a whole.
Student Union Web Site Administrator
The Student Union Web Site Administrator updates and maintains the Student Government web site for the entire entity of Student Government, including Council of Representatives, Student Senate, and Campus Life Council. The administrator facilitates communication and collaboration among student groups as well as effectively publicizes all student group events and programs to the student body. In addition, the administrator will work directly with the newly created off campus website (coordinated with the Office of Student Affairs) and will continue to make improvements and adjustments to this site.
